The Best Neutral Rugs Under $500

One of my favorite (and easiest) ways to completely transform the look and feel of a space is with a new rug. That means I like being able to swap rugs every so often. I also like to keep the cost of the rugs in my own home on the lower side. While, I’m all about investing in quality pieces and hanging on to those items for as long as possible. Rugs are just one of those things I don’t want to worry about getting stained or ruined (umm…hello spilled cups of coffee and dogs).

So I’ve rounded up my favorite neutral rugs under $500.

This moroccan style rug from Rugs USA has been one of my favorites for a long time. I have actually used this rug in two different client projects and have debated buying one for my own house. What can I say, I love a good black and white rug!

I love a jute rug and the texture and warmth that it can bring to a space. My favorite way to use a jute rug is as a base layer with a cozy patterned rug on top of it. This one from Rugs USA is one of my favorites and is my go-to jute rug for client projects.

If you are also a fan of a black and white patterned rug but worried about spills and stains, this Ruggable option could be perfect. Again, this is a rug that I have used in a past client project and loved the way that it pulled the space together.

This wool rug with a timeless pattern from Birch Lane feels like a steal coming in at under $400 for the 8’ x 10’ rug.

This is another rug from Rugs USA that I have used in a client project. It has that perfect vintage, slightly traditional, neutral style. I just love the pattern that it brings to a space while keeping things neutral.

If you are looking for something without pattern but still full of texture, I love this option from Birch Lane. While the 8’ x 10’ size comes in slightly over $500, the reviews about the soft, cozy, texture made it sound too good not to include it on this list.

I just love this simple yet bold Moroccan pattern with a high-low texture from World Market.

I have had my eye on this rug from Boutique Rugs for quite some time. If it isn’t apparent by now, I just love a black and white rug. The simple black and white really allows for this slightly vintage and traditional pattern really do its thing.

This Moroccan style rug from Rugs USA is another one that I have used in a past client project. I really like the simplicity of the pattern and am obsessed with how this rug pairs with anything leather.

I couldn’t let this list be complete without including the rug that I currently have in my living room. Again, black and white, Moroccan style, and from Rugs USA. What can I say, I like what I like!
