What I’d Buy If I Was Decorating Your Home for Fall

So here’s the thing, I love a little home refresh each time a new season rolls around. I’m also heavy on the idea that you don’t need to buy all new seasonal decor every-single-season.

Instead, I feel strongly that investing in a few quality items that feel seasonal without feeling too seasonal so that they can 1) stand the test of time and 2) possibly roll into the next season with the right styling.

So, it might go without saying, you’re not going to find a single pumpkin here. Instead a collection of items that feel like they could fit in any home, any time, yet feel just perfect for fall.

Black and Wood Candle Warmer Lamp

Candles just hit different once fall rolls around, right? And while I love the flicker of a flame, I’ve been on the search for a candle warmer lamp and this one feels pretty perfect. I mean, picture a cozy little corner with this warm lighting, all while helping your candles to last a bit longer.

Wood and Rattan Table Lamp

So, I’ve shared this lamp on for the first volume of the 5 Things I’m Loving This Week (as an interior designer), it sold out but is back in stock right in time for fall. The warmth of the wood base paired with the rattan shade feels just perfect for the season, and honestly all year-round.

Espresso Brown Linen Duvet Cover

This linen bedding is quite possibly my favorite bedding to exist. Seriously, I have this duvet cover in three different colors. And since I’ve been loving everything in this rich, dark, brown shade, it had to make the list. It’s so good, it’s hard to believe it’s nearly half the price of other linen bedding.

Sage and Ochre Washable Area Rug

Full disclosure, this rug is currently sitting in my entryway, waiting to replace my existing dining room rug - I just need to find a free afternoon to rearrange all the things. But I immediately fell in love with these earthy green and ochre tones. This whole color combo and pattern is again perfect for the season and year-round. Even better, this rug is washable.

Olive Green Chunky Throw Blanket

I mean, is it even fall if you aren’t curled up with a cozy blanket, a book, and a glass of cabernet somewhere? I’m loving both the color and the texture of this throw blanket. And it’s wool so you know it is made to stand the test of time.

Marble Wireless Lamp

To be honest, I totally got targeted on Instagram for this little lamp, but for good reason. It’s just such a vibe. And it’s wireless, so you don’t have to commit to having it one place - just bring the vibes with you.

Walnut Butcher Block Cutting Board

Is this fall decor? Not necessarily, but again this list is full of items that would refresh your home, perfectly in time with the season, without being truly seasonally, you know? But this walnut butcher block is just so beautiful. Function and beauty? I’m sold.

Burgundy Tea Kettle

Another functional and pretty item made the list. And again, that whole curl up with a blanket, a book, and a beverage of choice thing - in this case a cup of tea. I am absolutely loving the burgundy and gold combo for the season and the price is just hard to beat.

Brown Amber Glass Vase

Another forever love of mine? Brown amber glass. Forever and ever - mmm, kay? It just so classic, vintage feeling, and adds instant warmth to any space. This vase is perfect to fill with leaves or seasonal branches like these and then swap out for something new once the holidays roll around, again in spring, summer…you get the point, right?

Palo Santo Candle

You remember how I started this whole list talking about candles. Well, here we are again. I recently ordered this candle and it is the perfect (and subtle) woodsy with a hint of vanilla scent. It’s literally burning next to me now and smells so good. And the brown vessel? Perfect fall vibes.
